Founding Team.
Mehran Mehri
Co-Founder & CEOMehran is a senior data scientist and simulations expert with leadership experience at Bayer and Henkel, where he built advanced AI systems to optimize global supply chains, pricing, and manufacturing. He holds a postgraduate diploma in Data Science and Statistics from MIT (Institute for Data, Systems, and Society) and is affiliated with King’s College London (King’s Business School) through his postgraduate studies in Computational Finance and Banking. At Hibana, he is focused on building a world where every candidate has a fair and immediate chance to prove their talent—eliminating bias, inefficiency, and guesswork from hiring through scalable, intelligent interview technology.

Roberto Alonso
Co-Founder & CTORoberto is a lead machine learning engineer and former postdoctoral researcher in computer science at the Technical University of Munich, where he specialized in graph mining and anomaly detection. He has led AI and data architecture efforts at BASF and Henkel, building enterprise-scale MLOps pipelines and intelligent systems for manufacturing and supply chain. At Cognitix, he developed machine learning models for real-time cyber threat detection using graph-based methods. At Hibana, Roberto leads the technical vision—designing secure, scalable infrastructure to power intelligent, automated interviews at enterprise scale.

The Challenge We Observed

Guided by this insight, Hibana’s co-founders leveraged their deep expertise in AI, engineering, and firsthand hiring experience to transform talent acquisition from the ground up. Collaborating with a network of specialists in mathematical graph theory, HR, psychometrics, and talent management, they designed Hibana to eliminate key hiring flaws: subjective assessments, excessive costs, missed talent, and compromised evaluations.
